Teen beam: the only full color mag for 12 [cents]

Sparta IL: National Periodical Publications, Inc., 1968. Pamphlet. 34p., newsprint fanzine for small boppers featuring stories on or interviews with soft-rock celebrities, DC-style comic format with some panels (in color as advertised, but musician photos are b&w), 10x7 inch staplebound self-wraps with coated color cover. Rather rubbed and edgeworn (no chipping), the newsprint is of course acidic and toned (not yet fragile), a good copy. Cover embellished with collaged color photos of The Monkees and mention of encounters within with such as The Rascals, Herman's Hermits, Lovin' Spoonful, Raider Pin-up, Inside your faves, Association Hollywood happenings, 4 new grooves, Exclusive EMS a new kinda sound, Big pow wow Lewis & Clarke Expedition. Inside to be found, unmentioned on cover, are Mort Drucker cartoons, Simon & Garfunkel, uncaptioned pix of dreamboats this cataloguer does not recognize, Yardbirds, Mamas and Papas (Cass Elliot gets a caption to herself), gossip columnists exclusive to the mag, and predictions who's going to go bigtime: Electric Prunes, Carnival Connection, Myddle Class, Stephen Monahan.

Note that Teen Beam was previously called "Teen Beat" but lost a turf battle with a similar mag called "Tiger Beat"
