Orde Wingate-directed actions in WWII. "Chindit" was Wingate's division, the 3rd Indian, otherwise known as Special Force and later to become famous as "The Chindits." The name "derived from our divisional sign, which depicted the Chinthe, a mythical winged lion-like creature."
