n.p. [Stephanie Kline Defense Committee], n.d. 1.5 inch button, orange lettering and broken chain motif on red background, very good.
Kline was arrested as a suspect in an Oakland car bombing; the victim, Tommy Davenport Jr., was black. The prosecution depicted Kline as the assasin of a black man to undermine her political work as an activist in the black community. The murder charge was dropped but Kline was still being held on an explosives charge in 1972, when the pin may have been produced.
