Des Moines: American Lithographing and Printing Co., for the author, 1919. 417p. plus some appended archival photos, the textblock taken up with captioned mugshots of the young men in uniform (rather good ones; may have been solicited from the families) each in a monochrome cartouche, each page panelled in blue, title and dedication pages have gilt overlaid on blue and black layouts. There is a relatively brief company history, and each caption summarizes action seen and manner of death (many gas casualties). First edition maroon cloth boards titled in black and decorated in blind, quite worn; extremities show cardstock, the lower joint has a long rip and the upper joint starting; both hinges are badly cracked. Textblock remains sound and is easily handled.
