Issued by the Consortium on Health Facilities at National Universities, this book targets post-secondary educators. An opening chapter surveys AIDS around the world and in Japan (including discussion of foreigners with HIV in Japan and particular problems Japan faces in its AIDS situation). Additional chapters focus on the nature of HIV and transmission routes; one chapter discusses counseling; another discusses the response of college educators to AIDS (including discussion of human rights and privacy issues); a chapter on sexuality; and a concluding chapter on the history of AIDS around the world. Two subsequent volumes were released under similar titles (as vol 2 and vol 3); but there is no indication on this piece that it is "volume 1" - i.e. it was complete at time of publication.
