Novel of a southern-born child of a white lawyer and 'mulatto' woman who tries to pass for white, with tragic consequences, these being murder, confession and execution. The dj has blurbs from two San Francisco readers: a "former editor of the San Francisco Review," and an erstwhile "assistant to Sir William Osler"
