Report on the causes of Municipal corruption in San Francisco, as disclosed by the investigations of the Oliver Grand Jury, and the prosecution of certain persons for bribery and other offenses against the State; published by order of the Board of Supervisors, City and County of San Francisco, January 5, 1910

San Francisco: The California Weekly, 1910. 54p., 6x9 inches, preface, index, wraps lightly worn and creased, top corner dog-eared else very good first edition booklet in staplebound wraps.

The Oliver Grand Jury's findings resulted in the 1906-1910 bribery prosecution of San Francisco mayor and union musician Eugene Schmitz of the Union Labor Party (ULP), ULP kingpin Abe Ruef, and a number of other city officials and corporate heads. The tone of the report is very self-congratulatory despite the fact that only Ruef's conviction was upheld. He served over four years in San Quentin prison. San Francisco elected its last ULP mayor in 1909. Schmitz was elected to the SF Board of Supervisors in 1921.
