The book is a record of courses actually taught at a Tokyo junior high school and a high school in Kanagawa Prefecture. It reproduces visual materials used during these presentations, which were shown using the kami-shibai (paper play) technique of storytelling. The contents include basic facts about AIDS and transmission routes, HIV and the immune system, and the proper use of condoms. An addition section treats AIDS and human rights issues. Various supplemental materials are included, such as survey results from student questionnaires about AIDS knowledge and response to the class.
