" Wonderful things have happened since last we wrote you..."
Alto Paraguay: Society of Brothers, known as the Hutterians, 1941. Seven-page newsletter in the form of a mimeographed typewritten open letter, with several corrections to the text before reproduction. 8.5x14 inches, creased across middle from folding, bottom half of first page yellowed with a spray pattern of tiny stains.
Letter celebrates the reunion of the brotherhood after a fretful crossing of the U-boat infested Atlantic; discusses material improvements made to the jungle home of the group and laments the hardships encountered, including waves of disease that have killed two of the group's children.
