Speaking of Umbrellas [a play and poems]
Carmel: Self-published by the author, 1939. [32p.] 5.75x8 inches, stapled blue pictorial wraps show a touch of foxing and dust-soil, staples rusted else good condition.
The umbrella in question belongs to Lord Chamberlain. A satirical play in verse featuring Goering, Hitler, Mussolini, Chamberlain, Daladier and Stalin-- singing! (Mel, did you steal the idea for Springtime for Hitler???!!). Plus several of the author's poems. Masten was an editor and writer associated with the Carmel Pine Cone and others. His novel "Saint Udo" was published by Houghten in 1930.
