n.p. n.pub. 1903. Two black and white photographs mounted on stiff cardboard stock, photos 6.75x5 inches, backing 8.75x6.75 inches, corners worn, an edge chip missing from each photo, affecting only the background at the top edge. The name "E. Martins" is penned on back of both items.
Men and women in the fine suits and dresses of the period, posing in the woods for two group shots; one has 32 people visible including children; the other photo has many of the same people but several fewer. At least six open bottles of alcohol are visible in the former photo, with some hamming for the camera. Nearly equal distribution of men and women. A search of newspaper articles from the time shows that Fairfax Park, in Marin County, was a frequent venue for labor picnics.
