A little closer to the ground

[New York]: The Red Umbrella, [ca. 1973-1974]. Three legal-size sheets crudely dittoed on one side, stapled together at upper left; yellowed areas above fold crease on first page, otherwise clean. Not found in OCLC, which lists only one holding of ephemera from this organization.

Statement of minimal criteria for membership in the Red Umbrella radical network. Extensive analogy is drawn with a "deer in the dappled woods." Political contexts range from "sun-lit areas" to "deep shadow" and the responsibilities of member groups and individuals are defined for these various contexts. Could perhaps be irreverently defined as the Bambi theory of activism.
