Sandford, 1862-1948, was the religious leader of the utopian Shiloh Colony in coastal Maine. Sandford was convicted of manslaughter while running the community and spent a few years in jail. This book is his story of sailing around the world in the sailboat Coronet with his community members; the voyage ended poorly for the crew, with multiple deaths and scurvy.
