New York: International Publishers, 1927-1932. An abortive effort at collecting the works of Lenin, comprising the following volumes: IV (The Iskra Period: 1900-1902), Book I 336p, Book II 317p. XIII (Materialism and Empirio Criticism), 336p. XVIII (The Imperialist War) 496p. XX (The Revolution of 1917), Book I 381p, Book II 428 p. XXI (Toward the Seizure of Power) Book I 304 p, Book II 350p. These volumes, which were printed out of order, were to be the start of a comprehensive series, but soon thereafter International Publishers began issuing the collected works in a different arrangement and this series was abandoned. All volumes are in red boards with a black sillhouette of Lenin on the front, no dj. Later volumes of collected works lacked the Lenin image and were a different size; thus this group of volumes constitutes a set as such. Book II of the Revolution of 1917 has minor soiling at the top of the boards, and two volumes are slightly frayed at the top of the spine. The Imperialist War also contains some pencil notations.
