Santa Ana: The Fine Arts Press, 1947. [xiii]+91p., foreword, introduction, b&w illustrations, 10.25 x 7 inches, hardbound in publisher's original blue cloth decorated with a pasted-down plate. Casing yawns slightly; foredge of cover bears a haze of minute white flecks of unknown, not repulsive, origin; cloth generally dim but gilt spine titling remains reasonably bright; textblock faintly toned throughout. A good copy. As regards Nahl's images here (Charles Nahl, he of the gay-themed "Christmas in the Gold Fields") all of which cartooned buffoonery, we see only one, at p.81, that can be construed as subliminally naughty.
