Indiana University Press, Bloomington. 1977, xviii, 330p., front., original cloth binding, a few pages creased, no dj. "Buch's renown had two principal sources. She threw her energies into the series of strikes where Communists aided the hard-pressed textile workers. Passaic in 1926 and Gastonia in 1929 were Buch's baptism of fire, with arrests and persecution, glorious moments and great disappointments. Buch also became linked with Albert Weisbord, mercurial strike leader at Passaic. When the two broke with the Communist Party in 1930 over differences of leadership and strategy, they resolved themselves to relative isolation and sectarian involvement. Buch recalls their life together with vividness and candor, offering a rare insight into one woman's place within the private sectors of the Communist movement." *Buhle 335
