Lancer Books, New York. 1967, 253p., wraps slightly creased on the spine with a mild slant, first edition, paper slightly browned, paperback original, old bookstore stamp on a few pages. No movie tie-in info on cover; this and '67 publication date define first edition status. Zinberg (1911-1968), was a Jewish pro-Communist writer, married to an African-American woman, used the Lacy pseudonym to protect himself from blacklisting and harassment. Most of his works, including this one, featured African-American characters and were at least partly set in the Black community
