Born in Szombathely, Hungary in 1927 into a family of actors of the Hungarian stage, Andrés Berger-Kiss’s family left Europe before The Holocaust that destroyed 14 members of his paternal relatives. Taken to Colombia, South America by his parents at the age of five, he studied at the Ateneo Antioqueño and the Liceo of the Universidad de Antioquia in Medellin, a country he considers forever as his second homeland.
