Hubbbard, Elbert

Thomas Jefferson, a little journey by Elbert Hubbard, and an address by John J. Lentz, being two attempts to help perpetuate the memory & pass along the influence of the great American

The Roycrofters, East Aurora. 1906, 105p., "printed with rubricated side-heads on Italian hand-made paper," 8 x 5 inch flexible boards covered in brown suede with pressed label gilt, and lined with red moire fabric. Clerical edges (overlapping) are a touch ragged along top of the back cover, and faintly nipped at corners, textblock shows scattered foxing. One of the usual faux-fine printing jobs from the Roycrofters. They did do some lovely work, but this is a run of the mill production, except that (by chance) it hasn't deteriorated yet, suede not yet coming off on fingertips &c. Roycrofter "trade" editions sacrificed class materials for a classy look. You realize, of course, Elbert came back as L. RON Hubbard, after that S. S. Titantic thing
