Montagu, Ivor, Ilya Ehrenberg

Zero hour -- second front,; with appendix by Ilya Ehrenberg

Labour Monthly, London. [1941], 15p., illustrated with a political cartoon (Hitler giving the impression that his western front is impregnable), staplebound 8.5 x 5.5 inch wraps with design in blue red & black on white. Old library stamp (provenance on request), faint shadow of an absent label, a little edgeworn and soiled. Montague's essay includes "a special pre-view extract from Mein Sieg, the sequel to Mein Kampf, which Adolf Hitler, World Fuehrer, no doubt plans to write during one of his holidays in the White House or on the Scottish Moors [resort of British royalty]" --a neat little unfunny parody, Hitler discussing Rudolf Hess' mission. / Ehrenberg's "appendix," datelined Moscow, is a previously published article from Reynolds' Newspaper, "Only 9 Divisions in France," running two very- closely- printed pages
