the author, New York. 1913, 48p., 10x6.5 inches, rubricated title page, very good condition in tobacco-brown stiff wraps with printed cover label, in original cardboard slipcase (short splits at top edge now repaired, slightly worn at corners, light transverse tear and shallow dent at the thumb-notch), printed paper label on slip case discolored but intact. Only 500 copies printed, this a good square copy. Light narrative verse a la Byron, and parodies of Shelley, Keats, Whitman, self and others. A chastened view of the avantgarde left in general. From the dedicatory epistle to Lincoln Steffens: "Steffens, I hope I am doing no wrong to you / by dedicating this doggerel song to you" --and-- "But there's anaemia / Ev'n in Bohemia"
