Teape and Son, [London]. [1832], 24p., slight chipping of corners, paper generally supple and clean, several pages uncut. Discusses a slave rebellion around Christmas of 1831, known as the Baptist War; included are testimony from prisoners of the rebels, the captured leader of the revolt, and contemporary Jamaican news accounts. The leaders had been educated by missionaries conversant with British abolitionist thought. Pamphlet protests that missionaries had been banned from activity in Jamaica as a result of the uprising.
