A series of inter-related stories set in the Connecticut town of Nettleboro. Originally published the same year by Jack Woodford in hardcover. Clement Richardson Wood was a University of Alabama graduate who practiced law in Birmigham, was a lecturer for American Society for the Advancement of Atheism, a Socialist and one of Haldeman-Julius' authors. He also wrote under the pseudonym of Alan DuBois. He died in 1950
