Seed Publishing, Chicago. 1971, 32p., folded tabloid, toned, multi-color illus., very good. The Seed was noted for its bold use of color and striking graphics, in a vein similar to the San Francisco Oracle. This issue's cover features a multi-color cartoon by Jim Mitchell of a dragon (the American Dream) exhaling a blast of flame at the Earth skewered on a fork, while making a Nixon puppet dance. Issue announces that the Seed has become a Wobbly union shop and that a benefit dance will be held at IWW Hall in Nov. and Dec. Large colored blow-up of Gilbert Shelton's "Set my chickens free" comic strip inside. Usual mix of articles and ads.
