CORE (Congress on Racial Equality], New York. [1961], Single sheet, 10x13.25 inches, printed on both sides, illustrated from photos, creased for mailing, including horizontally with a 1.5 inch closed tear along the fold, two thumb tack holes in the upper left hand corner. Leonard, a native of Macon & Atlanta, Georgia, was going to college at Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans when she decided to join CORE and the sit-ins. This reprints her description of one of the sit-ins. She also participated in the Freedom Rides. She was one of the only Southern white women to participate in the sit-ins.
