The Socialist. Vol. 2 no. 1 (June 1937)

Workers Socialist Party, New York. 1937, Single issue of the 8-page, 8.5x11 inch newsletter, very good. There was a seven year gap between the final issue of volume 1 and the beginning of volume 2, which is commented upon in this issue. The headline article is "Supreme Court reform: is it a working class issue?", on Roosevelt's proposal to extend membership in the court. Argues that the purpose of the court is to defend capitalism, so any reforms to strengthen it are opposed to the workers' interests.
