n.pub., [New York]. [1968], 8.5x11 inch mimeographed handbill, smiudgily printed photo of Joans at upper left, light toning, horizontal fold crease. Includes a lengthy quote from an Israel G. Young review in Other Scenes. "Ted Joans is back from Timbuktu for a two-month reading tour that will reach from Harlem to the University of Indiana... First off, he no longer sounds like the Beatnick poets of the Fifties that he grew up with. He's lost the definite Yiddish tinge of voice that went along with reading at the Gaslight, the Commons and dozens of other Village coffeehouses of the time. His control of the English language is greater than ever, and what he has to say is firmer than ever, though he doesn't downgrade much of his earlier poetry based on the 'subterfuge of integration.'"
