Robert Packard & Co., Chicago. 1929, 94p., frontispiece and three plates with tissue-guards intact, personal inscription signed by the poet on endpaper, very good first edition in quarter-cloth over spiderweb decoarated green boards, mild shelfwear to edges, unclipped dj with some toning and wear to head & tail of spine and three small tape repairs on rear. Author's first book. Brown was born in Otsego, MI and bummed around France and the US. His first poem was published in The Dial in 1926. He ended up establishing a puppet theatre in Los Angeles where such notables as Elsa Lanchester performed. He was also a songwriter (Bette Midler performed one of his songs at an AIDS benefit) He is also know as Richard Meeker who wrote "Better Angel" a 1933 novel about a gay man facing his sexuality.
