William Howard Taft: Chief Justice

Oldbourne, London. 1965, 354p., frontis portrait, hardbound in boards titled silver with dust jacket. The ffep bears a tiny ownership sticker, the jacket has short pieces of tape between cover-panels and flaps that once secured it to the casebinding (not touching the boards) a very good, sound clean copy. Argues that Taft's strategems to preserve privilege accomplished the laying of foundations for an American welfare state as an unanticipated result
