Doubling the vote

New York State Womans Suffrage Association, New York. [ca. 1909-?], Four panel brochure, slightly unevenly folded with some toning. Argues that granting women the right to vote will overwhelm the "free-floating" (ie, irresponsible and often criminal) portion of the male vote, which the author holds responsible for susceptibility to corruption. Argues that the current system has failed families, as "We, as a nation, are pursuing a career of commercial exploitation... Little children are at work who should be at school... The exploiting of young girls in our Industrial Juggernaut increases the number of prostitutes and decreases the number of virtuous mothers..." Undated, but refers to Judge Lindsey's election in Denver despite not being endorsed by either party, which took place in 1908.
