Walker, H. M. [b.1887]

Blinkey Ben, His Wit, Humor and Philosophy. Illustrated by B. G. Seielstad

Los Angeles Examiner, Los Angeles. [1920], 79p., comic illustrations, softbound, 7.5x5.2 inch printed wraps paste-fastened over stapled signatures. Poor copy, wraps are detached, and badly torn and chipped along the spine panel; textblock a little bent, with mild dust- and thumb-soil. "I first met Blinkey Ben at the Corbett-Sullivan contest in New Orleans, on September 7, 1892.." Blinkey apparently an alter ego for sportswriter Walker, speaking an engaging rural white American patois, usually on non-sports subjects: contentment and poker. Dating from OCLC, which in March 2015 lists one holding only.
