The Chinese Pen, Supplement: A Special Issue on Lo Ch'ing's Painting, Autumn 1981

Taipei Chinese Center, International P.E.N., Taipei. 1981, 16p., coated paperstock throughout with poems, a brief running text, ten color reproductions of paintings and calligraphy, and several in b&w. Softbound, small magazine in 8.5x6 inch color wraps, somewhat edgeworn with rusting staples. Former owner had scotch-taped another smaller booklet into the rear of this one (more color reproductions of Lo's work), the tape has ceased to adhere and left stains on both. The artist was born 1948 in Ch'ing-tao, took a Master's at the University of Washington, travelled the globe and visited museums, at writing was teaching in Taiwan. His artwork and poetry incorporates modernist humor, remains familiarly traditional.
