Proctor, Kay [Tom Mooney case]

"Mrs. Tom Mooney's Own Story" [cover sticker] "Unhappy Ending; the Married Life of Tom and Rena Mooney...An Exclusive Interview In Which Mrs. Rena Mooney Talks for the First Time Of Her Shattered Marriage" [in] Look, August 1, 1939 - Vol. 3, No. 16

Look, Incorporated, Des Moines / New York / Hollywood / Washington DC [editorial offices]. 1939, Pp.50-53 (4p of 60p), entire issue, softbound magazine in 13.5x10.5 self-wraps. A remarkably fine copy featuring Ann Sheridan on the color cover, cover bears a 2x3 inch printed sticker; journalist Proctor's text (amidst numerous original captioned b&w photos) alleges Tom divorces Rena for Mrs. Gardiner Hammond, "millionaire widow." Condition is near fine, stunning portrait of Sheridan. Also find a preview of scheduled Joe Louis - Lou Nova boxing match (mostly Nova's preparation through yoga and "mystical routines"), the grudge-fight between Joe Stalin and Neville Chamberlain ("Chamberlain Hates Stalin Because He Fears Him" while Joe "Has Only Contempt"), the Ann Sheridan story of course ("How She Got Oomph"), an adulatory treatment (with color portrait!) of Thomas E. Dewey, vignettes of David Niven, Lucky Luciano, Christian comversion in Los Angeles prisons, more (including a doublespread on baseball).
