Morrison, Professor D. H., editor

[subscription item, publisher's dummy] The Home Treasury of Song for Canadians Containing the Richest Gems of Music: Sacred and Secular. Carefully selected from the works of the most renowned American, English, Scotch, Irish, French, Spanish, German, Italian and Russian Authors, and comprising the choicest and grandest harmonies of Mozart [et alia] including their favorite songs hymns, glees ballads [et cetera] to promote joy and pleasure in every home. Superbly embellished with many phototype engravings. [abridged salesman's exhibit]

no publisher, no place. no date (circa 1890), Random, disconnected pages sampled from a finished product (that we guess would run over 650p.), the item in hand totalling perhaps 100p. only; hardbound in thick 10.5x7.5 inch skyblue cloth boards decorated gilt and black, with faux-marbled endpapers (how cheap can you get?) and genuine marbling to textblock edges. Music notation and lyrics occupy most of the samples, with a dozen or so spot-colored portraits of composers and performers scattered amongst. In the back find a Prospectus on tinted stock followed by lined blanks for use by the salesman, these remaining entirely blank. Aside from a mildly soiled spine and hints of soil elsewhere on the cloth boards, quite a bright cheerful item.
