[Leslie, Frank]

Frank Leslie's Popular Monthly; June 1886 Vol. XXI. No. 6, June, 1886. The Cheapest Magazine Published in the World. 128 Pages. Over 100 Engravings. We Have No Traveling Agents. [subtitles from cover]

Frank Leslie's Publishing House, New York. 1886, viii, pp.642-768, wood-engraved images throughout and a bright wholesome pink and green color-litho'd frontispiece entitled "From the Rosebud Garden of Girls;" and plenty of advertisements. Softbound 11x8 inch magazine in ornately printed buff wraps with green and red spot color. A remarkable well-preserved number, faintly waved from careless packing, unobtrusive sticker scar from a removal at lower inside cover corner, mild edgewear and a tiny chip, a very good clean copy. Interesting romance images: males in evening dress are identically moustachioed; women are corseted to the neck; but in startling contrast, find startlingly large naked breasts on a mythologized "Season," and further disclosures embellish the story on Amazons.
