Leypoldt & Holt, New York. 1867, viii, 257p., first American edition 7x4.5 inch bevelled boards in green cloth gilt, top edge gilt. Edgeworn with minute fraying at extremities, outer joint split half its length, corresponding hinge is cracked (but holding), rear cover is damp-stained without migration or offsettings. The text bears occasional erasable pencilled tics where reader was in agreement with author. The original matte green endsheets are nearly unblemished, all gilt is bright, a good-only copy.
