All Union Caucus

[Five documents]

All Union Caucus, Portland, OR. 1959, Five documents, including: Constitution (mimeographed on both sides of an 8.5x14 inch sheet, stain in upper left corner); open letter to the Multnomah County Delegation to the Oregon Legislative Assembly dated Jan.6, 1959 (mimeographed on both sides of an 8.5x11 sheet); and issues 5, 6 and 7 of the All Union Caucus Bulletin, 8.5x11 inches, the first two single sheets, the latter issue two sheets stapled together, its rusty staple staining the adjacent two issues in their upper left corners. Oregonian militant labor organization intended as an ecumenical group; one issue of the bulletin recommends voting for a candidate of the SLP, SWP, CPUSA, Workers World Party, or any socialist party as a way to "wake up" the ruling class. Constitution notes that anyone joining the Caucus must obtain official release from party discipline in whatever group he or she belongs, so that constituents will not vote along their respective party lines in a divisive manner. Robert Driscoll appears to be the author of much of the content.
