Michael Russell, Wilby, Norwich. 1994, xxiii, 504p., extensively illustrated throughout from period images and photography and printed b&w on fine alkaline paperstock; hardcover item, 9.5x6.5 inch royal blue boards gilt in glossy decorated dust jacket. Casing faintly edgeworn, half-title page bears bookseller's notes (now erased), jacket mildly edgeworn except for an inch-long closed tear repaired verso, a very good copy with a long inscription by a family member, "the only family member alive to have been in the mill to work." Signed as "Dad;" carefully and legibly written on the verso of dedication page, about 225 words, all relevant. Starts: "Zoe has died so the final book on Cawnpore will not be written."
