Hemming, Geoffrey D., editor [a late regime change leaves D.Waldo Clarke in charge, with H. Doris Williams as Sub Editor]

Script. Swansea & District Writers Circle; nos. 1 - 10 + unnumbered Script 1973

the periodical, Swansea Wales. 1967 - 71 [+ 1973], Amateur production, averages 40p. each number, mimeo'd or reproduced from typescript; staplebound 10x8 inch wraps, cover stock in a variety of colors; very good copies entrusted to son of a contributor and "sub editor;" very good copies, most inscribed on the cover "from Mother" and many with relevant clippings laid in, also one short holograph letter, H. Doris Williams the contributor / mom, one Colin the son. A duplicate of no. 3 is thrown in. Ten unduplicated items. Credible efforts from a group that met in the town library, with the marvellously impertinent genius to send complementary copies to established writers: answers are printed as Guest Writers. Answerers include John Betjamin, Erle Stanley Gardner (a lengthy answerer), Agatha Christie and Pearl Buck in issue #3, and Harold Pinter. Mostly the messages run, "I'm terribly busy right now." The shade (the John Shade?) of Dylan Thomas hovers, and possibly the Powys clan.
