Argod, Robert

Out of Antarctica, reflections on the origin of peoples

Richmond Editions, London. 2004, ix, 326p., heavy coated paperstock throughout with numerous color and b&w site and exhibit photography, first edition stiffish laminated frenchfold wraps, 8.5x6.7 inches. A fine unblemished copy of a nicely designed and produced book; it is a posthumous study by a pioneer in the reconstruction of Polynesian navigation. Argod argues that mankind was generated in the Antarctic area and spread thence to Africa. A sophisticated presentation partially dependent on ancient peoples' depictions on cuneiform tablets, primitive maps, mythology (not least the story of Gilgamesh).
