Sabin, Philip

Lost Battles; reconstructing the great clashes of the ancient world

Hambledon Continuum, London. 2007, xxi, 298p., features three extensive color insert sections on coated paperstock; first edition boards gilt in dust jacket, a very good copy. Text paper is toned evenly, inserts are bright, faintest signs of any handling, near-fine condition. Sabin, professor of Strategic Studies at King's College London, reconstructs battles using "analytical modelling" and game theory; the odd-looking fullcolor battle maps are a departure from standard depictions.
