Somewhat edgeworn, with a corner tip missing on the back cover, thumbsoil and a light small stain to foredge, title page and adjacent leaves bear a light crease. A good-only copy. A preliminary note describes the translator as Pakistani-American teaching in the US since 1984; "she has been translating Urdu fiction for journals and periodicals in Pakistan and abroad for many years." Author Chugtai is identified as one of "Urdu's well-known writers."
