Old Dominion Steamship Co.], [New York]. 1907, 1p, 6.25 x 17 inches, illustrated, quad-folded transit schedule, black and red ink on ivory paper, map included, somewhat worn at folds, mild discoloration on cover and along bottom edge. Old Dominion Line ran passenger ships up and down the east coast between the 1870s and the outbreak of World War II. Jamestown Exposition was a World's Fair held to celebrate the Tercentenery of the founding of Jamestown, Va., the first British permanent colonial settlement on the North American continent. WEB Du Bois denounced the expositions Negro Building, which displayed African American achievement. However, black fairgoers were unable to eat in any exposition restaurant due to segregation laws.
