Sherwood, "Uncle" Bob, last of Barnum's clowns

Hold yer hosses! the elephants are coming

The Macmillan Company, New York. April 1932, xxi, 361p., inserted photographic plates, first edition openweave tan cloth boards titled orange, decorated and panelled black; top edge tinted black as issued, a nice production. Casing faintly cocked, cloth has picked up mildest dust-soil, a very good copy which has an affectionate authorial inscription on the ffep signed in full & dated year of publication, and a re-presentation from inscribee to a Berkeley resident in 1939. Oh yes, find a marginal tic in orange crayon next the inception of a reminiscence of Henry Ford; Sherwood was an early car owner (he'd had two vehicles prior to 1900). Coolidge also enjoyed Sherwood's company.
