Cleve, Felix M.

A quarter-century of artistic dance speech held at the inauguration of the Ethnologic Dance Center (Oct. 1942)

author's mss, no place. 1942, Two versions in three states of a lecture delivered in New York City (we think) by a dance critic who made a name in Vienna of the 1920s; 13p. (typed draft), 9p. (ribbon and carbon copies). Standard leaves fastened variously with paperclip or staple, wear and some rust, good copies. Includes a copyright application dating from 1980 for a similar text. The three mss and the filled-out form enclosed in an old manila envelope hand-lettered. Cleve was a devotee of La Meri, an American "free form" dance enthusiast who felt the rigors of ballet generated movement that was not meaningful.
