Red Mountain Tribe, Berkeley, CA. 1970, 28 p., folded tabloid, 11.5x17 inches, rather worn and misfolded with dustsoil along spine, good-only. Cover is a photo of four longhaired women in hooded robes stirring a witch's brew in a garbage can, brandishing rifles and playing a clarinet, perhaps both in honor of Halloween and bouncing off the feminist articles in the issue. Articles include: long article on the winding up of the Los Siete trial, nearly full-page photo of Angela Davis with invitation to join her defense, Ron Dellums running for congress as a revolutionary, long article by lesbians about their outrage with the sexism at the Black Panther sponsored Revolutionary People's Constitutional Convention, coverage of Talamantes and Dunham trials in Marin, centerspread of a diary by a Palestinian 'resistance fighter', report by Bill Mandel of a trip to the USSR, a write-up on plans to establish a Gay homeland in southern California along with smattering of gay news, lengthy write-up on tensions in Santa Cruz over the "hippie invasion" and an attendant trial of one of them for arson, plus usual local ads of the era.
