[1850s?], 439p, 4 x 5.5 inches, gilt edged on top of pages, home-made leather cover to original endpapers and binding with red ribbon marker, Cary's name is misspelled in the volume but the poems are clearly hers. Alice Cary (1820-1871) was an abolitionist and suffragist from Hamilton, OH but her poems do not reflec this. They can be catagorized as sincere.
