Townsend, Clarence Fonteneau

Rythmic fancies and fantastic rhymes; sentimental, solemn, humorous & ill humorous

The Blair-Murdock Co., San Francisco. 1915, 60p., frontis-portrait of Townsend, prologue, ownership signature and bookplate, first edition in wine cloth and gilt with light shelfwear and irregular sunning. The San Francisco lawyer/poet has not decided if he is to be Ambrose Bierce (who has a poem included here) or George Sterling. He is neither. Misogyny disguised as wry humor, anti-suffrage poetry, maudlin romance (sorry, that is redundant is it not?)
