Hammell, George M., editor-in-chief

The passing of the saloon,; an authentic and official presentation of the anti-liquor crusade in America; with numerous contributors

The Tower Press, Cincinnati. 1908, xxii, 436p., tissue-guarded frontis, many inserted plates (mugshots all, preponderantly male), dark green cloth boards patterned in blind, a massive tome, spine lettering has entirely flaked away otherwise perfectly sound clean copy. A reasonable survey, not based on religious or psychological criteria alone: amongst which reasons are an alleged precipitous decline in quality of beer available to purveyors.
