The book gathers essays on AIDS and human rights written by numerous individuals; topics addressed include AIDS legislation in Japan, critiques of AIDS journalism, discussion of state intervention into reproductive affairs, comparisons with the experience of individuals with leprosy, and discussion of the ideology of discrimination in regard to AIDS. Some of the essays assert that particular figures prominent in directing AIDS policy in Japan have insufficient consciousness of human rights. Also contains a glossary and chronology.
